Liz Roome, Trustee, Secretary

Welcome to Liz Roome, Secretary of Friends of Stratford Hospital.

Originally from South Africa, Liz was born, raised, and educated there, spending her career teaching English at a secondary school in Cape Town.

After retiring, Liz came to England on holiday and met her late husband. They married and moved from London to Stratford-upon-Avon, a place she now calls home. 

Liz became Secretary in 2025 and enjoys giving back to the local community - being part of FoSH is a very good way of doing that.

The charity is very grateful for Liz’ support and for everything Liz brings to our team. 

Siân Sayers, Trustee

Siân, a proud trustee of FoSH, has lived and worked in Stratford for many years and absolutely loves being part of the local community.

After a varied career, including working in property development, and property services within the NHS, she changed direction and retrained as an acupuncturist. Siân now owns and runs Stratford Acupuncture and also supervises and mentors other health care professionals. 

Siân joined FoSH in 2025 after she had been looking for a way to give something back to the community, and this felt like a perfect opportunity. Working closely with patients every day, Siân understands just how important, good healthcare and support is. Within FoSH, Siân assists with marketing including social media, helping to raise the profile of the charity and showcasing who we are and what we do. 

Pam Johnson, Volunteer

We’re delighted to introduce Pam, a valued member of the FoSH fundraising team.

Pam worked for the NHS for 38 years, beginning her career at a hospital in Yorkshire before moving to Stratford upon Avon and working in the dispensary at a local GP surgery.

Pam joined FoSH many years ago after being introduced to the charity by her friend and neighbour. As a member of our fundraising team, Pam supports events that raise vital funds for Stratford Hospital. She is also a regular face of our Meet & Greet service in Building One, assisting patients and visitors find their way around and making them feel comfortable.  Pam  helps with our popular book sale on a Thursday & Friday morning, which is another way we raise funds.

Not only does Pam give her time and demonstrates care within the community, but she approaches her role at FoSH with an abundance of enthusiasm.

Helen Hunt,  EA to FoSH Patron

Helen’s connection with Friends of Stratford Hospital goes back many years, when she was part of the joint working board established to launch a campaign to raise an incredible £1 million for the new Cancer and Eye wards at Stratford Hospital. The campaign enabled the charity to provide additional equipment that helped make hospital visits more comfortable for patients and their families. 

Helen is delighted to be supporting FoSH again and, as our Patron’s Executive Assistant by day, she is generously sharing her time and experience to help the charity.

Helen assists with marketing and PR- raising the charity’s profile and building valuable corporate relationships to share the incredible difference FoSH makes within our local community.
