The aim of Friends of Stratford Hospital is to support patients and staff by providing additional equipment, services and comforts that fall beyond the provision of the NHS.
Friends of Stratford Hospital (FoSH) is a local charity, first established in 1948, with the primary aim of raising funds to provide equipment and other comforts not readily available from the NHS that support the health and wellbeing of patients, their families, and hospital staff.

WE CREATED AND CONTINUE TO MAINTAIN A GARDEN ON THE NICOL WARD
GARDEN AT THE NICOL WARD
Landscape work to redesign and restore the garden, including footpaths and handcraft bespoke planters was undertaken in-house by Maintenance Supervisor, Mark O'Loughlin. The creative planting was carried out by the Soroptimists and the ongoing maintenance is carried out by a Supporter of Friends, Peter Wall.
Patients of Nicol Ward now look out onto an attractive well maintained garden that attracts pollinators such as bees and butterflies.

Hand-held Scanner for the Ophthalmology Department
The Optomed Aurora scanner device has proven especially helpful in clinics serving vulnerable adults and allows the team of specialist staff to diagnose patient conditions more easily in the eye clinic.
AN ADDITIONAL PHYSIOTHERAPY ROOM
New Treatment Room for Physiotheraphy
Transforming an unused space, this room now offers the physiotherapy department and its patients not just additional space but a room with privacy.
