Welcome to Friends of Stratford Hospital
Helping Your Hospital to Thrive
The aim of Friends of Stratford Hospital is to support patients and staff by providing additional equipment, services and comforts that fall beyond the provision of the NHS.
SOME OF THE PROJECTS FUNDED BY THE FRIENDS'
Additional Treatment Room for the Physiotherapy Department
We funded the transformation of a storeroom into an additional treatment room for the Physiotherapy Department, enabling greater patient throughput and privacy.
The conversion work was undertaken by the South Warwickshire Foundation Trust Clinical Services (SWFTCS) Maintenance Supervisor, Mark O’Loughlin, and as this type of work can be undertaken in-house by Mark, we are able to this in the most cost effective manner.
SOME OF THE PROJECTS FUNDED BY THE FRIENDS'
The Garden at Nicol Ward
The garden outside of the Nicol Ward, which originally opened in the mid 2000's, was in need of a refurbishment.
The work to restore the footpaths and handcraft bespoke planters was undertaken in-house by Maintenance Supervisor, Mark O'Loughlin, and funded by the Friends'. The creative planting was carried out by the Soroptimists.
Patients of Nicol Ward can now look directly out onto a pleasant, landscaped area of colour , with the added attraction of wildlife such as pollinators like bees and butterflies.
WITH YOUR HELP WE FUNDED A HAND HELD SCANNER
Hand-held Scanner for the Ophthalmology Department
The Optomed Aurora scanner device funded by the Friends' has proven especially helpful in clinics serving vulnerable adults and allows the team of specialist staff to diagnose patient conditions more easily in the eye clinic.
